NYS DOL Safety and Health Training Grant
The Hazard Abatement Board (HAB) is pleased to announce the availability of 2012-2013 Grant Year funds to develop and implement programs that promote occupational safety and health in the workplace through:

Approximately $6.5 million in total funds is available for programs under Article 29 of the NYS Labor Law. Applicants may apply for any portion thereof. Grants will be awarded based on the number of quality programs approved and the availability of funds. A Request for Proposals (RFP) is available as of January 11, 2012. You may obtain the RFP from this website or by contacting our office at (518) 457-7629.
- Eligible applicants are:
- Public and private employers
- Labor organizations or their federations
- Trade associations
- Non-profit organizations and
- Educational institutions
Employers must employ one or more persons (beyond self-employment). Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) goals shall be:
- 20% MWBEs
- 11% minority business subcontracting
- 9% women-owned business subcontracting
Your response to the 2012 RFP must be received by the HAB staff not later than 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on February 13, 2012, or be postmarked by such date in accordance with the proposal submittal instructions set forth in the RFP. No consideration will be given to grant applications that fail to meet this submission deadline.
