On October 14th the Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism held a job fair in Little Valley. The event drew 21 businesses searching for employees, a recruiter for the U.S. Air Force as well as resources for attendees.
Resource attendees included representatives from Healthy Community Alliance who help navigate the state health insurance marketplace for those without health care coverage; Cattaraugus One Stop who assists job seekers with their job search and prepare for interviews among many other services; JCC's Workforce Development and Adult Students to educate attendees on the opportunities available through certificate programs at JCC and the Disability Resource Coordinator from Workforce Investment Board to speak with those on disability and resources available to them.
Businesses in attendance included local school districts, healthcare facilities and manufacturers as well as businesses in the hospitality and food & beverage industries. Many of these are full-time year-round positions, while some are part-time or seasonal.
